Vineyards

The region’s rich soils and excellent climate enable the vineyards, planted in “marco real” (2.8 x 2.8 metres) according to traditional viticultural practice, to produce excellent quality grapes. The vineyards are found in various different locations situated at 700 m altitude, with low temperatures in winter, high temperatures in summer and 3,000 hours of sunshine per year. One example of these is the “Paraje Natural de las Lagunas de Manjavacas”, a site of touristic and natural interest, where the grapes that go into the winery’s organic wines are harvested.

Around 40% of the vineyards are trellised and the remainder are bush-trained (en vaso), following the traditional viticultural practice, but a good number of the latter are in the process of converting to trellising to allow greater mechanization.

The grape varieties planted range from the region’s most traditional to international varietals from the four corners of the world, which have adapted perfectly to our region.
